Friday Book Club

Time to talk books! What are you reading and loving this week?

I want to mention a couple of new releases that I read as advanced copies and really enjoyed.

Lauren Dane's Mesmerized is an awesome futuristic, part of her Phantom Corps series. I read it not realizing it was part of a series, and had no problem following along - it definitely stands alone. I'm looking forward to diving into more of the Phantom Corps books. Link to backcover blurb and excerpt.

Maya Banks Sweet Possession is a wonderful hot contemporary that's part of her fantastic Sweet series, but like Lauren's book, it stands alone very well I think. Link to backcover blurb and excerpt.

Now, your turn!

I've been rereading Tanya Huff's fantasies, and am finishing The Quartered Sea. I'm debating between starting her book, Summon the Keeper or switching tracks to my brand-new copy of Ann Aguirre's Shady Lady.

I've stepped out of the romance genre (for like the second time ever), and am reading Bill Cameron. I have LOST DOG and will jump right into COUNTY LINE. Love his writing. It is so... REAL.

Just finished Lover unleashed I started yesterday with the new Breeds installment Navarro´s Promise. Next will be Dark Enchantment, Book three in Anya Bast´s Dark Magic Serie. Since tuesday I am cursing about regional restrictions which do not allow me to buy the electronic copy of Hidden Embers - print version would have been possible.... :-( (And those dragon shifters are nearly as hot as the changelings - so the book would have helped me over the time till KoS...;-) )

Just finished Lover Unleashed by JR Ward. Now, I'm re-reading Play of Passion. I'll probably re-read some more Psy-Changeling books to get ready for KoS!

I reread Kiss of Snow for like the nth time, just finished City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare and am now reading "Scream For Me" by Karen Rose. I don't know how to rate the Daniel Vartanian-series, but I've "enjoyed" it so far, although I really miss the whole urban fantasy-vibe. :D

This week I've read Chase by E McCarthy, Navarro's Promise by L Leigh, also got Lauren Dane and Maya Banks' new ones too. I've read a really good R Rated mystery series by Linda Castillo this week too - not really any romance - but the first one is Sworn to Silence really great books. Not including the harlequins I've read by Lynne Grahame and India Grey this week too.

I reread Kiss of Snow over and over again : ) I also devoured Cordelia's Honor on your recommendation - it was fantastic. Alas, now I have nothing to read until Jennifer Estep's Tangled Threads comes out later this month. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I just read "The Charmer" by Autumn Dawn. It was an excellent otherworldly love story at a can't beat price.
And last night I started "The Peach Keeper" by Sarah Addison Allen and didn't put it down until I finished it at 1 a.m. Her stories are just so touching and magical.
Oh and I read "Slave to Sensation" for like the 10th time on Sunday - I just love Lucas. Love love love.

I'm about halfway through Lover Unleashed. It's taking me a couple of weeks to finish a book nowadays. But this won't be the case with KoS :)

I've been reading the night huntress series, I'm on book 5, and I just started Monday. Bones is very sexy, not Rapheal sexy, but still..

I am reading two books right now. The first one is The Perfect Play by Jaci Burton. I am not that big of a fan of football, but I am enjoying the banter between (not to mention the sexual tension) the two main characters and I like it how the hero is not a totally self-absorbed alpha.

The second book is This Side Of The Grave by Jeaniene Frost (Night Huntress series book 5). I like it how Cat and Bones have a stronger releationship in this one. And, I love how Bones is not afraid to show his feelings to her despite his powerful vampire standing.

I am kind of reading Vampire Trinity by Joey W. Hill as well, so I am keeping busy!

I've discovered Maya Banks' KGI series. Love It! I read the first on Wednesday, the second on Thursday, and the third on Friday.

And I'm seriously disappointed that the fourth book isn't coming out until February 2012!!!

I read The Darkest Secret and Vampire Mine last week. Both books were good! I am currently reading Navarro's Promise by Lora Leigh. I plan to start Dark Enchantment by Anya Bast and Hidden Embers by Tessa Adams next.

@Anonymous: I've also given up on the Lords series (I love Gena's ideas, but her writing style isn't the best), but Reyes and Danika are my fave couple ^_^

I read A Mermaid's Ransom by Joey W. Hill but I didn´t like it. The second book of this series was definitely better.
Then I read Jacob (Nightwalkers) by Jacquelyn Frank. Nice one.
And I read Devil's Own (A Clan MacAlpin Novel) by Veronica Wolff, also very good. I liked the characters very much.

I just finished reading Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs by Molly Harper. It was very entertaining. The other two books in the series are on hold at the bookstore. Yay!

A question. You mentioned quite a while ago about a dragon series you wanted to recommend. Is it out yet? Just wondering. Thanks!

Aside from reading and writing an accounting paper; I have been reading Diana McCall's books and J.D. Robb. I love reading Maya Banks and Dianne Duvall and Katie MacAlister. It depends on my mood and where my brain goes next. Diana Palmer is an all time favorite, I have all of her books. I also have all of Christine Feehan's books. So many author's so little time.
