Congratulations to the previous winners!

Tough question, when you think of historical periods (at least when I do) they are so romanticized. Life, I'm sure in many ways, is easier now than before, but if I could pick one for just a short duration. Maybe the late 1800's, I think it would be a real treat as long as I could be of an middle to upper class family. Not sure I'd want to spend my day as a scullery maid!

Thank you again and please enter me in for either book!

I'm intrigued by the idea of the future, I think, if it looks a little bit like a fantasy book. Being able to shape-shift or teleport or have another type of psychic skill would be awesome provided those abilities are used safely. No emotion-, blood-, or soul-sucking creatures, thank you very much! LOL

Please enter me for either book- thanks!

Wow.. That really is tough!

I'd say the 1920s or 1930s. They were periods rife with change and I've often felt like I would have been delighted to be part of that, despite the war. Those decades inspired artists of all types, including filmmakers. Those old films are the best! Also, I will admit to being drawn by the fashion. :)

This is actually a very easy question for me to answer. I've always been vastly interested in the Celts, their way of life, the druids (yeah big on the druids), so I would definitely love to live in the era that the druids and Celts dominated their lands until foisted out.

L said...

Definitely the future - as long as you can teleport! I love travel but I hate long flights.

twalls said...

Well, I wouldn't necessarily want to live in the future since I don't know what the future is like. I don't like uncertainty. And even though I would love to visit the past, I couldn't live there. I'm too used to convenient plumbing and sanitary conditions. So I guess I'm stuck right where I am. :P
Please enter me for either book. Thanks!

Only 5 days to go! *happy dance*

Hmmmmm. I definitely think I would like to try and future, even just 50 years on. Things are changing so quickly :) Although, on a more serious note, here's hoping in 50 years we still have a planet worth visiting!

And please don't include me in the draw for Atlantis Unleashed Nalini :)

Lillie said...

Raonaid told me about the party.

I would have to choose the present. I like indoor plumbing too much to go to the past, and I'm afraid of heights, which might cause a problem with the flying cars of the future, LOL.

Estella said...

I prefer to live in the present.
Please enter me foe either book.

Amy Kathryn said...

I am going to have to go with the future also...maybe far enough that time travel is possible and I can visit some of the other eras on holiday!

Danni T said...

I don't know. I definitely wouldn't want to live in the past because the life expectancy was a lot shorter. I liked to visit the past and the future but I don't think I would want to live there....unless the future was really, really cool!! Thanks for holding this contest!!

macbeaner said...

I've always said that I'd live in the period before the Civil war. The dresses and life seemed so glamorous to me at the time. Now, I'm starting to contemplate the Regency period-except for the health care.

Unknown said...

I prefer to live in todays time period, but I would love to go back in time to several different time periods for a visit! I would love to go the the Highlands of Scotland from years ago. Maybe back to the Civil war, the regency period, I think I would love to visit them all. but not live during that time.

Lori said...

Oh goodness...

I would have loved to be a 50s housewife or a 60s hippie. And the future could be fascinating but the truth is...

my daughter is 8 and this is the best life ever. I'm watching her become a person I like, I get to share in the joy of discovering the world.

I couldn't miss a second of this right now.

Kyesha said...

I think I might like to live in the future. Mostly because I don't think that I can live in the past without the mod cons that I'm used to now, and I think that I would like to know how culture and society evolves.

chey said...

I'd choose the 1950;s

Cybercliper said...

I'll be brave and venture out into the distant future...maybe the year 6050 on a newly discovered tropical planet of humanoid, sword carrying hard bodies...hey, a girl can dream, right?

Anonymous said...

I think I'd like to live in the future. 5000 years in the future. Long enough that (hopefully) the present problems are resolved but not before the sun dies ;)

Sarah-Elizabeth said...

That is a hard question! I've been thinking about it and I have to say that I think I'd like to live in the past...probably in the 1700's or 1800's.. :D

Donna said...

I think I would like to live in a futuristic but rustic time period. It seems like it would edgy romantic to me.

Anonymous said...

Well, I'm pretty happy with where I am right now. Kids pretty much grown, through college and married or getting married. Husband and I have good health, a new touring bike and are free to take off on trips as we want. But it would be fantastic to have a chance to pop into different times for a short visit. Oh, my gosh wouldn't that be the ultimate trip.

Lysander said...

18th Century so long as I was an aristocrat with money, if I was middle class then mid to late 19th century and if I had to be lower class then Celtic because the distinction wasn't that large back then.

Either book would be great!

Jen K. said...

This is actually an easy question for me. If I had to pick, I would stay right where I am. I love my modern conveniences. I don't want to be scared in the future by over population, environmental hazards, etc. (Unless the changlings help us out!) The past was difficult!!

Now, If I could live in a fantasy world...

Anonymous said...

I'd have to pick in the near future, or whenever they figure out how to cure arthritis!

Mari said...

I would like to live in the turn of the century.

adh said...

1930s London. I'm in the middle of the new Emma Holly series and really enjoying myself, LOL.

Megan said...

There's no time like the present. Better the devil you know n all that. Knowing my luck if I got sent to the future it'd be some sort of post apocalyptic terminator nightmare. If I went to the past I'd end up burnt as a witch or die of food poisoning. I've retweeted the comp cause the comment count seems a little light today.

donnas said...

I would like the future as it is portrayed in the IN Death series.

Caffey said...

I loved that anth, THE TALK OF TON. SO glad they putting it out again!

I'd love to visit Regency! I always would want to dress up and go to one of those balls and dance a waltz with a rogue!!!

cathiecaffey(at)gmail(dot)com
I'd love to play for ATLANTIS UNLEASHED

Unknown said...

Hmm...I think that living in the future sounds exciting, though there is a sense of trepidation about the unknown. But I would love to live in Ancient Greece or Rome, or the Regency Period. Of course, only if the manners, womens rights and plumbing were modern! ;)

Unknown said...

This one is easy. i would live in the highlands of Scotland, where i would be taken by a a powerful laird in a sexy kilt. lol

Cecelia said...

The Progressive Era (here in America) would be fairly interesting, I think. All that coming out from under Victorian influence to the new morality of the 1910s and 20s...although WWI does sort of put a damper on the period...

But there's still land-claiming expansion, the move from rural to urban society has just started in full swing, and it would be very interesting to see a society and nation in flux.

Great question!

celialarsen(at)gmail(dot)com

While venturing back in time to try on empire style dresses seem fun, I'd prefer not to wear corsets. The future seems interesting, but what if there are aliens? I guess I would prefer the present day.

jeanette8042 said...

I would live in the future because I will be done with school by then and I want to see what my future would be like in a more advanced technological society.

Pamk said...

I don't do historical anything lol so It would have to be the furture I love to see that maybe see my grandkids grown up lol.
Alyssa's atantis unleased rocks can't wait for unmasked.

Darcy Jo said...

This is a hard one, because I love ancient Greece, but mostly because of the mythology. If the gods were real and I got to see them, then that's definitely my choice.

However, since that's probably too much to ask, then send me away on a star ship with a sexy rogue skypirate to explore different worlds :-D

I would love the Alyssa Day book! Atlantis is so intriguing.

Louise Delamore said...

Tricksy question. The past is so romanticized and the future is unknown. So i guess the present (but since I live in my own head a lot of the time I can go anywhere).

PS: forgot to add link to my blog which has had invite since Monday.

I like this time period just fine. Though I love reading historicals and future time period books, I wouldn't want to live there myself

I prefer the present. Medical conditions weren't good in the past, and who knows about the future.

Atlantis Unleashed looks yummy.

Kat said...

I think I'd rather live in the future during a time when (hopefully) medicine has advanced to the point where most medical conditions are actually curable instead of just treatable.

Rianne said...

Sometimes I fantasize about the past, sometimes is fantasize about the future. My reality is that I like my life now, I would love to have sneak peeks in the past or the future. I don't want to live there for real.

Tonberry Queen said...

I believe that the turtle from Kung Fu Panda said it the best. "Yesterday was the past, tomorrow is the future, but today is a gift...that is why it is called the present."

I would want to live in the present. I think it would be fun to visit the past and future, but I think I would prefer to live in the present.

Hmmm. The mayans definitely! They were awesome! Bloody but awesome

Although I love READING about the past, I still prefer living in the present because I don't think that I could stand to wear all of the layers that seemed to be required in the previous years and I am seriously addicted to my modern conveniences such as the internet!

I like to read books of historical periods but wouldn't want to live in them - just think of the bathroom. Iik! Plus a woman had nothing (or almost) to say there...
As we know the present already and it's not so bad I think it would be safe to stay here :-)
But I would like to live in the future - I hope there would be some problems solved and therefore e better living for all.
Although - if I'm really honest I would LOVE to life in one of the books I read. Be the mate of some shapeshifter or angel or live as a witch. I mean that's action, love and true friendship there!

Please enter me for either book

I'd like to randomly travel into the future and see what kind of books, movies, and music are available. I would love to see what kind of energy source is being used, what medical advances have been made. Jump maybe fifty or hundred years after my death and see what's up. ^^

Dear Nalini,

Thanks for the notice you left on Facebook. I now hold "Branded By Fire" in my hands. As I started reading it, I find that I could not put the book down. Therefore, I am officially declaring this book a huge success.

Thank you again for another great books with memorable characters for me to love.

p.s. I still love Lucas and Sacha the best of all....

Congrats to all the winners!

I do not know what time period I would like to live in. I am pretty spoiled and I could not imagine living in a time that did not have indoor plumbing. The sixties would be a very interesting time to live in...I think.

I would love to be entered.

I'd love to live in Scotland in medieval time, in a big castle with a sexy highlander.

I love my technology...let's say I live in the present, but can time travel to the past and/or future lol

come on I want to have my man cake and eat him too LOL

No time as the present (health care, indoor plumbing, freedom of speech, women's rights... :-) )
But I'd love to be able to make short time-travels to the past, especially the Regency period in England (as wealthy aristocrat, of course) or the late 1960s...

Thank you and please enter me in for either book!

I'm getting my PhD in history, which makes it really hard to fantasize about living in the past. However, I think it would be interesting to live in Alexandria in the first century BCE. It had such a diverse population, and I've always wanted to know what their subjects thought about life under the Ptolemies. Thanks!

Congratulations to all previous winners!
This isn't an easy question; but I think my answer would be the future. I was always facinated with future and all the good stuff it could bring. But I would chose a happy future (without wars and lack of water)

I love my Highlanders, so I have to say the 1400's but I would also be the favored daughter of a powerful Laird. Gotta be protected from the scoundrels, LOL.

Lisa J said...

My choice would be the present. Who knows what the future holds. The conveniences of the present would be hard to give up to live in the past. I wouldn't mind visiting either the past or future though.

I would love to have a Season in Regency England, attend the balls and have the beautiful gowns.

I would also like a trip to Eve Dallas's future, if only to ride in one of Roarke's amazing vehicles.

I would also like to visit the world of Angel's Blood. That was a really amazing place to visit!

Thank you!

I'd pick the future. Definitely not the past!

Natural Beauty Burra said...

I'd pick the present too, being someone who enjoys current inventions and technology, lol:) Also, like Lisa J said, we don't know what the future holds. But, a short time in either the present or future might be nice:)

Since I think we may be able to use our Psy powers in the future I would choose the future. I have great hopes for the future and think we will be more globally connected. I love Alyssa Day. I am not familiar with the other author but am always looking for new ones. Keep up the good work.

And I wouldn't say no to empire England either ;)

I don't even have to think about this one. Past - regency. I've always thought I was born a few decades too late ;)

I have always wanted to live in the regency era in England. I am such a Jane Austen wanna-be. Love the fashion, love the subtlety of courting and the chivalry of a gentleman. Fitzwilliam Darcy all the way. I would prefer to live in the country versus town.

Anonymous said...

That is a hard question. I think I'd choose the Regency period as I love the dress and conduct of the people in this period. Ofcourse I would have to have been a popular member in the ton to enjoy it :).

I'm not really sure which time period I would like. I like my present conviences too much to want to live in the past (unless there is a great reason). However I'm not sure about the future either. More like the present with a twist. Kind of like Hamilton's Blake Series or Lora Leigh's Breed Series. A little extra uummmpphh to go with my present time. ;)

I would love to live in the future. I'm trying to find a vampire so I can do that... I'd love to see what the world would be like in the year 3000. I would love to win either book:)

I think I would stick to the present as we have great health care, equality for most of us, great technology and (so far) a planet that can sustain us.

With all the problems we do have, I am unsure if the future will be a nice place to be and the past had too many problems like poor health and long work hours for everyone except the upper classes.

Annie said...

I agree with Patty, the future would be so incredible. My parents were born in the early 1900s and I was talking with my father the other night, asking him what was the greatest thing he's ever seen change in his life time? He said he could never have envisioned the digital age. But my 80 year old father has taken to cell phones, laptops, cds and dvds. Now the idea of other races such as vamps, shape shifters, and psy-such folks would be something marvelous to see.

Anonymous said...

I'm really fascinating about what will be of the future, especially after having started the Psy/Changling series!

But then again, I love the idea of the past just because women were built a bit more sturdy then without problems!
